What other theater company wants an actor with a proven track record of boosting your bottom line in many ways?
The theater community, while noble in it’s pursuits, is plagued with many a business problems. The ability of any theater company to stay afloat these days is a continual uphill battle bordering on the nearly impossible. Can I get an amen?
Every other week, it seems, we hear of another company closing it’s doors, forever, because of a hostile corporate donation environment and a shrinking audience base that IS not being replenished with a younger demographic. I mean, I know you hate to hear it, and I hate to throw this out there, but is your organization on or may soon be in need of life support: tubes hanging out of every orifice of business operations, a hemorrhaging audience base, rapidly decreasing media coverage, etc?

Here’s an artist with a proven strategy to help lift companies off of the life line support system, giving them a chance at a new lease on life
It is my personal belief that a new era of theater survivorship is at hand. And a key way for theaters to flourish again is to re-evaluate their marketing models. But more importantly, they need to harness the powers of a group of individuals whose duty it must become to help save the theater companies of our nation. I’m talking about actors.
No longer can the actor expect to be hired to simply create a role. An actor must take it upon themselves to become SUPER AMBASSADORS / SUPER MARKETERS of their profession. Marketing can no longer be the sole responsibility of the theater company. Companies and actors must begin to join forces to create relationships that are mutually beneficial to all parties involved.

Michael is an “ActorPreneur” dedicated to enriching the bottom line of theater companies around the nation
I, Michael Wayne Rice, took my artistic training ridiculously seriously. In fact, I went on to get an M.F.A as a classically trained actor (believing in the adage that if one can do the classics, one can do anything). But the funny thing is, acting classes teach acting. Not business. And because acting classes focused on acting, it does not take long for actors to foolishly start thinking that there is no “art” in business, and that business dealings are the anti-christ to the artistic soul. I hate that mentality. Despise it.

I wanted and needed to be more beneficial and impactful for the betterment of our community
So I set out to study marketing and branding, as an independent self-starter, as someone who would not go to school and major in it, but rather create my own curriculum. I specifically did not focus on studying marketing and branding within the acting industry. Instead I focused on studying marketing and branding within industries that I was interested in (technology, sales persuasion, the hip hop industry, guerilla marketing, social media, motion graphics, video production, psychology of influence, self help titles, etc). For years I did my self study regime and eventually emerged with enough knowledge and confidence to create a personal marketing and branding platform.

If you don’t read this, my USP (Unique Selling Proposition) right now, you just may hate youself later!
My USP: I am the only actor, in the nation, with a strategic marketing plan to help your company tackle some of the biggest problems our community faces today.
I have implemented this strategy at numerous theaters and you can join the ranks of those who have already profited from it!

You can have success like the success created at other theater companies and all it takes is for you to reach out and ask.
Here are some examples of the success helped generated with my marketing strategy unleashed for roles I created at theater companies:
Let’s be absolutely clear. I don’t promise these results, but I do help to create an environment where such success is possible. And I don’t do it in a void. I could never not acknowledge cast and crew mates. None-the-less, I do have a specific artistic business plan written out (available upon request) that outlines some of my specific methodologies for achieving such success.
- #1 Celebrity Attendance
- #2 Record breaking ad sales revenue
- #3 Media coverage at levels theaters never experienced
- #4 Exemplary show reviews
- #5 Highest attendance records set
- #6 Highest grossing openeing weekend box office record set
- #7 Invited to speak at various community professional organizations, thereby increasing company visibility and respectability within the local community
- #8 Complete sellout of the entire run of the show (before the closing of the first week of performances)
- #9 Award winning show
- #10 Annual fundraiser that grossed 3 times the yearly average of the 5 previous fundraisers
